Google will roll out major improvements in the next three months to Google+, its new social networking service, as it seeks to close the gap with Facebook, the market leader.
Early enhancements will include the incorporation of Google Docs, the word-processing application, which will make collaborating on documents easier “within days”, said Vic Gundotra, senior vice president of engineering, on Wednesday.

Big challenges ahead for Dropbox, Box.net, and other players, as Google Drive, iCloud, and Windows 8 (with Windows Live sync services) flood the cloud storage/sync market; since Facebook is already handling a lot of big image files, it probably wouldn’t be a big stretch for Facebook to also start syncing other types of personal files
And it makes a lot more sense. Few people are using Google Docs for online storage beyond the files they use in Docs. Most still probably don’t even realize they can. Updates to the increasingly tightly-coupled Google Docs/Google Chrome
Pagination also changes what’s possible with printing in modern browsers. We’ve worked closely with the Chrome team to implement a recent web standard so we can support a feature called native printing. Before, if you wanted to print your document we’d need to first convert it into a PDF, which you would then need to open and print yourself. With native printing, you can print directly from your browser and the printed document will always exactly match what you see on your screen.
